Rocket Festival or Bun Bang Fai, Yasothon Province
The most
popular festival in Yasothon province is Rocket festival or in Thai we will
call “Bun Bang Fai” It happen in the second week of May every year.
Bun Bang
Fai or Rocket Festival is beginning in rainy season every year because in the
past the people believe in superstition and god in the heaven. For example, the
farmers need a lot of water to planting their rice field but it is arid area,
so they are made the rocket send to god in the heaven, when the god know he
will make a rain fall in the earth.
On the
festival have a lot of thing, the people will show the rocket parade and they
join to dancing together, people in this parade will wear colorful dress and
there is rocket festival contest if the rockets go to the sky heighten which
team will be the winner.
If you
want to join with us, you can come to Yasothon province, the festival will
happen about second week of May every year.
